For Pete Allen, driving the World War II era military truck in the Fort Scott High School Alumni Parade tonight will bring memories. "In 1958, five of my classmates and I joined the National Guard while still in high school," Allen said. "The five of us went into active duty and did basic training at Fort Leonard Wood. Board OKs bid for track renovation

The USD 234 Board of Education approved a handful of items, one of which was a bid to replace the track at Frary Field, during a brief special meeting Thursday afternoon. Board members approved a $94,837 bid from Track Renovations, Inc., for renovation of the track at Frary Field. School officials said the bid was the only one the district received for the project, which is separate from the district's approved school bond projects...
