The Fort Scott Fire Department and other area fire departments could see some upgrades in equipment if a grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency goes through. Darleen Dixie Brashear, age 72, a resident of Devon, Kan., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the Fort Scott Manor in Fort Scott, Kan. She was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Florence, Ariz., the daughter of Cecil Lloyd Shields and Viola Lee Elliott Shields. She married Arthur Raymond Brashear on Dec. 12, 1968, at Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1999. In earlier years, she had attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary...
