About halfway through the first half of a Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division contest against Highland Wednesday night, Fort Scott Community College sophomore Leondra Doomes-Stephens landed awkwardly on her ankle after blocking a shot and missed all but a few seconds of the remainder of the game...

Kurklin Bohanon and Darrell Blanton combined for 52 of Fort Scott Community College's points Wednesday night as the Greyhounds held off a late charge to defeat Highland, 85-75, in a Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division victory. Bohanon connected on 11 of 15 shots from the field for the Greyhounds, who had a season-high in points, as he finished with 31 points. It was Fort Scott's first 30-point night since Arsenio Williams scored 33, 32 and 31 in consecutive games last February...

Ronald R. Danley, 68, of Pittsburg, Kan., passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at his residence following a period of illness. Ron was born Oct. 4, 1940 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Roy William and Marie (Faulhaber) Danley. He graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton, Kan....

PARSONS -- Fort Scott High School's basketball teams split a make-up doubleheader at Parsons Thursday night. Tiger girls won 53-26 while the boys lost 71-65. Jolee Sharp's 26 points led the way for the league-leading girls (7-0 SEK, 8-3 overall). This was her sixth 20-plus scoring night of the season and the 10th of her two-year varsity career...

Fort Scott High's wrestling team split a Southeast Kansas League triangular here Thursday night. But it had to wait a while to find out if it did. The final match of the night between the Tigers and Labette County ended with the score tied at 24-24. But wrestling duals aren't allowed to end in ties anymore...
