Michael Cook, interim men's basketball head coach at Fort Scott Community College, received a change of title Monday according to information received from the college. The college appointed Cook as the interim head coach of the team following the sudden departure of former head coach John Burns at the beginning of the fall semester just as student-athletes were reporting to campus. ...

BASEHOR -- Fort Scott High brought four wrestlers to the Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Classic here over the weekend. Of those, Denzell Davis earned a sixth-place medal in the 119-pound weight class. In order to win that medal, Davis had to win a tough quarterfinal match against Cody Phillips of Atchison County. The final score was 10-8...

PARSONS -- Fort Scott Community College's men dropped their fifth straight game here Monday night, falling to Labette, 62-61, in Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division play.
