Daniel Glen Needham took the long way home on September the sixth 2023, after fighting a long battle against cancer. We are sure he had to stop along the way and check out all the new fishing holes and visit with everyone he met along his journey. David Eugene Hoskin, age 85, a former resident of Fort Scott, Kan., and more recently of Nevada, Mo., passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at his home in Nevada. He was born Dec. 17, 1937, in Fort Scott, the son of Frank Hoskin, Sr. and Frances Readinger Hoskin. ...

A longtime USD 234 official is taking her skills and experience working with people and numbers to pursue another opportunity. On Monday, the USD 234 Board of Education approved the resignation of Finance Director/Board Clerk Gina Shelton, who began working with the district in 2015. Shelton said she has accepted a position at Fort Scott Community College. Her last day with USD 234 will be Sept. 22...
