Sirens sounded, but no tornado confirmed Wednesday

City officials respond to article naming Fort Scott the state’s poorest city

During the Fort Scott City Commission meeting Tuesday, Director of Economic Development Rachel Pruitt reported city officials recently learned “Fort Scott made the news and not in a good way.” Fort Scott was identified as the “poorest city in the state” in a May 7 article published in USA Today.
