OSWEGO — Both Fort Scott and Uniontown opened their girls’ golf seasons here Tuesday in a tournament with Labette County as the host. PARSONS — Fort Scott made changes through its lineup here Thursday for the Labette County Invitational and found some success with the No. 2 doubles team of Britni Addington and Patience Richwine. “We are still hurting ourselves with our unforced errors, but we are showing improvement,” Fort Scott head coach Lynn Barr said. “The 2 doubles team of Addington and Richwine played well together and had a good tournament.”...

ALTAMONT — Fort Scott High’s varsity girls won the team title at the season-opening Haley’s Run cross country race at Labette County Thursday. Tiger girls scored 52 points to runner-up Independence’s 56. Girard was third with 71 points. Paxsten Eads was Fort Scott’s top finisher, coming in third in 22 minutes, 1 second on the five-kilometer course. Renee Trout of Independence was the winner in 20:21 and McKenzie Wilks of Pittsburg was second in 21:01...

CHEROKEE — Uniontown defeated future Three Rivers League rival Southeast, 16-12, in the season opener for both teams here Friday night.
