OSWEGO — Uniontown’s softball team, playing for the first time in nearly a month, dropped both ends of a Three Rivers League doubleheader here Monday, falling to Oswego, 4-2 and 10-0. “Overall, we played pretty well considering we hadn’t had a game since March 16th (at Northeast),” Eagle head coach Paula Coyan said. “We had only been able to be on our field a couple of days due to weather.”...

PARSONS — Fort Scott High School’s junior varsity tennis team took part in a tournament here Monday. Drew Rhoades played No. 1 singles and finished in second place with a 3-1 record for the day. His only loss came in his first match, a 6-5 (4) tie-breaker defeated to Pittsburg’s Dakota Caudle. He defeated Sean Neyland of Independence, 6-3, Ta Kitrungrot of Chanute, 6-0, and Carlos Collins of Parsons, 6-4...

INDEPENDENCE — Nick Patton and Elijah Wright have each played in No. 2 doubles this season. But on Friday, they were paired together for the first time this season and finished in second place at the make-up of the second Independence Tournament here Friday...

Fort Scott Community College softball has won just two of its last eight games, both coming over non-conference opponent Mineral Area on Sunday at the Betty Ruth Willard Complex. CHANUTE — Neosho County swept Fort Scott Community College’s baseball team here Saturday, knocking the Greyhounds out of first place in the Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division. The sugring Panthers (14-10 East, 25-14 overall) won the opener, 4-2, and rolled in the second game, 19-9. Neosho County won the season series 3-1, splitting at Fort Scott last Thursday, and have won seven of their last eight games...

OSWEGO — Uniontown’s baseball team scored 39 runs in a sweep of Oswego in Three Rivers League play here Monday. The Eagles (2-0 TRL, 4-0 overall) won game one, 21-5, in four innings and the second game, 18-5, in five. Uniontown needed just 7 hits to win the opener while taking advantage of 12 Oswego errors. Nick Hathaway was 2 for 4 with 2 runs batted in while Graham Hathaway drove in 3 runs. Cale Coyan also had 2 hits and Alec Womelsdorf has 2 RBI...

Fort Scott High’s baseball team bounced back nicely from a loss in Saturday’s third-place game in the Adam LaRoche Tournament to Blue Valley North, turning out a total of 22 runs in a 10-3, 12-1 doubleheader sweep of Parsons Tuesday night. All three games took place at Dave Regan Stadium with Tuesday’s contests giving the Tigers their first two wins in the Southeast Kansas League this season...

Compared to last Thursday’s 23-10 win over Pittsburg, Fort Scott High’s softball team won a low-scoring game over the Purple Dragons at Don Hewett Field Monday afternoon by a score of 16-1. The Tigers, 2-0 in the Southeast Kansas League and 4-2 overall, have won their last three games and scored at least 10 runs in each one. Pittsburg (0-4, 0-4) has yet to win a game this season...
