Rick Cowan, 68, Baldwin City, Kan., passed away Feb. 12, 2015. He was born Jan. 24, 1947, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Jim and Darlene Cowan. Rick served in the United States Navy. He was an avid fan of KU basketball. Dee Burnam, age 90, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Guest Home Estates in Fort Scott. She was born Sept. 17, 1924, near Hiattville, Kan., the daughter of Joseph A. McCracken and Nellie Peelle McCracken. Dee graduated from the Girard High School in 1942. She later married Lester Burnam. He preceded her in death.
