Commissioners OK truck purchase

Bourbon County Commissioners on Monday gave Public Works Director Jim Harris permission to sell three dump trucks and possibly buy one replacement. Harris will list the three older trucks, purchased from the state, on an online auction service. One has 525,000 miles on it, and two have 450,000 miles on them. Two of the trucks do not run, and the third has water in the oil and is not expected to last much longer, Harris said...

Hunter Hawley, 13, an eighth-grader at Fort Scott Middle School participated in wearing boots on Monday for Red Ribbon Week at the school. Monday was "Give drugs the boot" day, when students were encouraged to wear boots.
