The Food 4 Summer lunch program started by Grace Hardwick three years ago has grown. So much so that in order to continue until Aug. 22, there is a current financial need, Hardwick said. "It takes $250 per day to run the program," Hardwick said. "There has been a tremendous outpouring from churches, individuals and businesses, but we are daily adding kids. As of this week we are looking at $2,000 to finish out the summer."...

Norma Louise Hoyt-Page, 84, of Fort Scott, died Thursday afternoon July 31, 2014. She was born Jan. 6, 1930 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Charlie Earl and Ethel Augusta (Lowe) Duncan. She married Arthur Wilson "Barney" Hoyt March 28, 1948 in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1988. She later married Earnest Page Nov. 18, 1988 and he preceded her in death Dec. 16, 2003...
