Circus cancels local performance, some others in Southest Kansas

Promoters for a traveling circus that was to perform July 13 in Fort Scott canceled the show just two days before the scheduled show date. A spokesman with the National Guard Armory in Fort Scott, where the circus was supposed to take place, said early Monday that the promoters of the circus, the Abadilla Entertainment Company, canceled the show in Fort Scott last Wednesday. ...

The Senior Swingers had their Monday night dance at Buck Run Community Center with about the same crowd as last week. The parking area was much better as there wasn't any other activities at the gym at dance time. Marion Shrimplin our bass guitar player and singer wasn't feeling so well. PITTSBURG -- The Jeff Boschee Basketball Clinic will be held at Pittsburg High School Monday and Tuesday. The camp features Boschee, who played at the University of Kansas from 1998-2002.
