James Murgo preached at the Diamond Community Church, April 27, because Pastor Stephen was absent. Tierra Durbin and Doug were congratulated on their recent engagement.
Several people from this area attended the Garland Fire Department openhouse, April 26. The Med helicopter had a call during the gathering and all got to watch it take off. There was a dedication of the new flagpole and several music groups performed during the afternoon, including the "Cherry Jammers", from the Cherry Grove Church.
Dorothy Ketner, Beulah Queen, Anna Rourk and Esther Secrest enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant in Deerfield, April 29.
Several from the area attended the Good Samaritan Fundraiser at the Presbyterian Village, April 29.
The Wolf sisters did not forget the older ones in the neighborhood on May Day. Amanda came and gave each a geranium. Thank you.
Anniversaries at the Cherry Grove Church, April 27 were for Matthew and Robin Kendrick and R.B. and Hazel Shoemaker. The special "How Great Thou Art" was sung by several of the Shoemaker siblings. Pastor Dale's sermon was "Why Not" based on James 5:13-18. The Mother and Daughter banquet was May 7.
Les and Mary Seavers attended the wedding of their grandson, Josh Seavers and Melinda Saurwein, May 3, at the Lyons Mansion. Jared Witt performed the ceremony and a reception followed.
Several from this area attended the Community Prayer Breakfast at the college on May first. Bob Goltra, Principal of the Steadley Elementary School from Carthage, Mo. was the guest speaker. He told about an organization called "Prayer Warriors" that was formed by several churches in Carthage to pray for the teachers and students since it is unlawful to pray in school.
Ed and Opal Brillhart joined other family members in celebrating her sister Pauline Norris' birthday, Friday evening.
Kathryn Singmaster, Oregon, Donna Singmaster, Calif., Marjorie Lewis, and Beverly Peel were guests of Esther Secrest, for dinner at Chicken Annie's on May 4.
Pastor Stephen's message, May 4, was "Never again" based on Revelation 7:9-17. The Special was sung by Grace and Rahab Muhota. Stephen will graduate from Ozark Christian College, May 17. Three graduates, Daniel Johnson, Valedictorian, Jeremy Nelson, Salutation and Stephanie Muhota, Class Orator, will speak to the graduates and friends during the Commencement. Austin Schofield is among the graduates from the Fort High School this year. Congratulations.
Ed and Opal Brillhart recently had breakfast at Max's Restaurant with their son Mark and grandson, Clay Brillhart.
Sam Karns, Fort Worth, Texas, visited with his great-aunt Edna Mae Marsh one day last week.

Edna Mae Marsh, John and Natalie Snyder and sons, and the Wright family from Miami, Okla., gathered at the Hubert Thomas home on May 4, to help Joan celebrate her birthday. We wish Joan many more happy birthdays.

Ed and Opal Brillhart took their granddaughter, Kate, to Chicken Mary's, Wednesday, for dinner to celebrate her birthday. Others joining in the fun were her grandmother, Ann Gibson and special friend, Nick O'Toole.
Charles Marsh and family were among those attending the "Country Store" at the Christian Heights School, May 3.
Marjorie Lewis took Esther Secrest, Beverly Peel, Kathryn Singmaster and Donna Singmaster to Aunt Toadie's, for dinner, May 5. Kathryn and Donna returned to their homes Tuesday morning.
Birthdays at the Cherry Grove Church, May 4, were for Frances Colegrove, Glends McReynolds, Anna Portwood, and Hally Ruby. The Cherry Jamers sang "Church in the Wildwood." Pastor Dale's sermon was "Enough Evidence to Convert", Acts 24:10-23.
The Thrift Club met with Esther Secrest, May 7. The group enjoyed lunch at DoughBoys and had their regular meeting at Esther's house. After the regular meeting, Bingo was played. Dorothy Ketner won the blackout prize. They will meet June 4 for a carry-in luncheon with Juanita Dominquez.
