Summer brings more calls for police officers

Fort Scott police are handling an increase in general reports this summer, Fort Scott Police Chief Travis Shelton said. Just this week, the department has taken 52 reports, including five burglaries and two thefts that have occurred since Monday. For the most part, case reports involve general purpose calls, which are basically calls for service and is a "catch-all" category that is broken down into various areas, Shelton said...
