Tigers outlast Trojans, 52-46; Lady Tigers fall in clash of state-ranked teams

The Fort Scott High School Tiger boys were able to notch their second win of the season, 52-46, on the road against the Girard Trojans Tuesday night. The Tigers and Lady Tigers faced the Trojans in non-league action.
The Tigers (2-10) got 24 points from senior Dub Chipman and 21 from junior Kanin Brown en route to the victory. The leading scorers for the Trojans (2-6-2) were sophomore Kam Smith with 13, senior Ranson Born with 10 and senior Scott Moore with eight.
In the first game of the varsity doubleheader, the Girard Lady Trojans (11-1) dominated the first half to hand the Lady Tigers (9-3) their third loss of the season, 51-29. Girard junior Erika Boatman led all scorers with 16 points, while sophomore Karsyn Orand finished with 12 and senior Jeriah Adolph had 11.
Fort Scott senior Kylee Comstock led the Lady Tigers with 12, while junior Jacee Rogers had eight and junior Raylee Cowan added five.
