The Bourbon County Commission has approved an amended funding agreement for an emergency department and other health care services slated to come to Fort Scott in 2025.

On Thursday, commissioners amended their meeting agenda to discuss the amended agreement with Freeman Health Systems, which plans to operate an emergency room and a 10-bed inpatient hospital in the former Mercy Hospital building.
