Fort Scott High School students on Tuesday learned how the court system works in Kansas from the newest justice on the Kansas Supreme Court.
Justice Melissa Taylor Standridge, a lawyer who has served as a Kansas Supreme Court justice since 2020, discussed her pathway to the court, what judges do in their positions, and how judges are selected. She also talked about how the judicial branch differs from other branches of government.
