Recipients of the Gordon Parks Choice of Weapons Awards were honored Saturday evening during the Gordon Parks Celebration Tribute Dinner. Guests gathered from near and far to enjoy the annual Gordon Parks Celebration held at Fort Scott Community College and other local destinations on Oct. 3-6 The event was sponsored by the Gordon Parks Museum and a host of local, area and national supporters.

Multiple artistic presentations, activities and contests were presented with the highlight being the Choice of Weapons Awards, presented annually to winners who have demonstrated the art of using talent, intelligence and perseverance to both achieve and excel in their chosen fields – often against a backdrop of prejudice and difficult circumstances.
