City commission condemns building, but owners have time to make repairs

Prior to voting to proceed with condemnation and repair of a building at 118 E. Wall St., and setting a timeline for the building owners to commence repairs, Fort Scott City Commissioners on Tuesday discussed their options.

Commissioner Tim VanHoecke asked City Attorney Bob Farmer how the city can proceed if the building owners have hired a contractor, and the city moves forward with the condemnation process but does not own the building.
