On Friday, Sept. 20, immigrants from around the world assembled at the Fort Scott Historic Site to become naturalized citizens of the United States of America. There were 195 men and women present, which is the largest number in the local ceremony’s history. The new citizens originated from 55 countries, with each of them residing in Kansas as legal immigrants prior to making the decision to gain citizenship.
