Lady Eagle volleyball early season results

The Uniontown High School Lady Eagle volleyball teams competed Sept. 5 in Fredonia and hosted a preseason tournament Sept. 7.

On Sept. 5, the varsity Lady Eagles fell to Sedan, 22-25, 28-26, 25-15. Uniontown’s Macy Schoenberger scored 10 points; Klara Stock went 14-15 on attacks with six kills and Marley Sutton recorded three solo blocks.

Fredonia defeated Uniontown 25-15, 25-16. Sutton scored four points and went 11-11 on attacks with three kills; Stock went 13-13 on attacks with five kills.

Uniontown’s JV squads defeated Sedan and Fredonia, but scores were not available.

On Saturday, Uniontown finished second place in the preseason tournament. The Lady Eagles defeated Pleasanton, 25-20, 25-11. Schoenberger scored eight points and Stock went 7-8 on attacks with three kills.

The Lady Eagles defeated Altoona-Midway, 25-12, 25-9. Mercedes Schultz scored 12 points (served 12 consecutive) and Anniston Kelly went 7-8 on attacks.

Uniontown defeated Christian Learning Center, 25-17, 26-24. Sutton scored seven points and Jordi Wolf went 10-11 on attacks with three kills.

Baxter Springs defeated Uniontown, 25-11, 25-18. McKenna Wolf scored four points; Stock went 5-6 on attacks with one kill; and Kendyl Bloesser went 5-5 on attacks.

“I am so proud of the team!” UHS Head Coach Jackie Hall said. “We improved every time we stepped out on the court. We still have things to work on, but they are coming into place. Everyone is working hard to fulfill their role on the team.”

Hall said the teams are off this week, but the JV squad will travel to Humboldt for a JV tournament Saturday.

“So we will have a lot of time to work on the little things we need to correct … blocking, covering our block and covering our hitters,” she said.
