City commission votes to part ways with REDI

The Fort Scott City Commission voted to proceed with dissolving a partnership with the Bourbon County Regional Economic Development, Inc. organization, and discussed the potential fate of a downtown building on Wall Street Tuesday night.

Following a 9-minute executive session that included commissioners, City Manager Brad Matkin and City Attorney Bob Farmer, the commission unanimously passed a motion by Commissioner Dyllon Olson “to allow legal counsel to draft a 30-day notice for Bourbon County REDI, and according to our contract with them, to inform them according to the contract, we will be parting ways, essentially,” Olson said.
