Bourbon County officials will pursue expansion of the county’s public works department after action Monday evening by the Bourbon County Commission.

Commissioners Jim Harris and Brandon Whisenhunt approved a motion by Harris to allow Public Works Director Eric Bailey to work on a contract with property owners to the north of the public works building on 215th Street to purchase a building and four acres of land for approximately $102,000. The commission also approved allowing Harris, as board chairman, to sign the contract.
