Federal money expected to help pay for county's storm damage repairs

Bourbon County officials received news Monday the county should get federal assistance to mitigate damage from late April storms and flooding.

On Monday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster assistance is available to Kansas to supplement recovery efforts in areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that occurred April 25-30 in 12 Kansas counties. President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for Kansas.
