William Kenneth "Ken" Galloway
William Kenneth “Ken” Galloway, 75, of rural Parsons, passed away at 12:20 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
Ken was born on Jan. 25, 1949 in Denver, Colo., to Donald and Mary Josephine (Moore) Galloway. Ken grew up in Fort Scott and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. He was raised a Catholic and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons.
Ken farmed with his family throughout the years on the family farm north of Parsons. He was very generous with animal rights organizations and very loving to animals. He especially enjoyed raising dogs and gardening. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and was an outstanding athlete in high school days. Ken had a keen sense of humor and a humble, gentle spirit. He laughed and smiled easily and brightly. His friends and family will miss him.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mary Jo and Fred Kane. Survivors include several cousins, including Debbie DiRisio, Mary Powers, Michael Hoffman, Melinda Brage, Mike Fielder, Paula Leftwich, Deborah Waechter, Angela Goldenstein, Mark Brage, Jerry Moore, Laura Moore Brewer, David Moore, Kevin Moore and his trusted friends, Ron Giefer and Tom Giefer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Ladore Cemetery in rural Parsons.
