Farmers' Market vendors voice concerns to city commission

During a discussion Tuesday on a proposed policy concerning the Fort Scott Farmers’ Market, Teri Hamilton, president of the organization, said she wanted to address the impact of the market being displaced for one weekend.

Fort Scott City Commissioners and city staff discussed an ordinance allowing the market to have the “first rights of refusal” for any event using the Gathering Square Pavilion from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays between May and September, City Manager Brad Matkin has said.
