Planned solar panel project spurs debate on history

City officials were not in agreement Tuesday on a certificate of appropriateness involving installation of solar panels on a downtown business.
During Tuesday’s Fort Scott City Commission meeting, commissioners and City Manager Brad Matkin discussed a certificate of appropriateness for Hole in the Wall Liquor, 124 E. Wall St. Although a motion to approve the certificate passed by a 3-2 vote, opinions differed on how Fort Scott’s history is defined.
