James Floyd Thurston
Mr. James Floyd Thurston, 88, of Rochester, Wash., passed away on Feb. 6, 2024. He was a kind and quiet man with a great sense of humor. Mr. Thurston served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Washburn from 1956 to 1960. He had a successful career as a long haul trucker and cattleman. His hobbies included boating, camping, fishing, and yard sale bargain hunting.
Mr. Thurston is survived by his daughter Charlene Allen, son Lawrence Paquin, and stepsons Greg Wichman and Tim Wichman. He was preceded in death by his parents James A. and Hazel Thurston, as well as his wives Patricia Jane Howe Thurston and Mary Maxine Brooks Thurston.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Hill Funeral Home in Puyallup, Wash., on February 21, 2024. Interment will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
