Organizers of the annual Bourbon County Sheriff’s Golf Scramble have added a new event to a growing fundraiser for the Special Olympics Kansas organization.

Prior to the sixth annual golf tournament, a youth baseball clinic will be offered Friday at the LaRoche Baseball Complex. The clinic, which starts at 10 a.m., is the idea of retired Major League Baseball veteran Otis Nixon, who appeared at last year’s golf tournament and is bringing a handful of guest athletes with him again this year, according to event co-organizer Steve Anthony.
