A canvassing board on Thursday finalized the general election with little change in the only contested race in Bourbon County.

According to official elections results from the County Clerk’s office, Commissioner Nelson Blythe, a Republican, defeated Democratic challenger Clinton Walker 1,212 votes to 359 votes. Blythe picked up about 77% of the vote, while Walker garnered about 23%. There were five write-in votes.

After the Nov. 8 election, Blythe had drawn 1,198 votes to Walker’s 357 votes. Blythe won the August primary to face Walker, who ran unopposed in the primary.
