First-year Uniontown golfer gains experience at state

Although she failed to make the cut for day two, Uniontown High School sophomore Reese Gorman battled chilly conditions and gained some valuable experience at the Class 3-1A State Golf Tournament Monday at Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson.

Gorman, a first-year golfer, shot a 105 on day one – the same score she recorded at regionals – but fell short of the cutoff score of 100 for day two of the tournament, Jason Tourtillott, teacher and boys’ and girls’ golf coach at Uniontown Junior Senior High School, said.
