Chanute gridders clobber Fort Scott, 49-6
Friday, October 7, 2022
CHANUTE - The Fort Scott Tigers avoided a shutout with a late score in a 49-6 drubbing by the SEK powerhouse Chanute Blue Comets Friday night.
The Tigers (1-5) struggled to make headway until the fourth quarter against the 6-0 Comets, and penalties and turnovers did not help matters. Some younger Tigers stepped in to fill spots on an injury-laden squad that entered the game with injuries to several key players, including starting QB Cal Cosens, a junior who remained sidelined for the second straight week due to concussion protocol. Sophomore Colton Rogers started under center again for the Tigers.
