County supports state housing grant program

Bourbon County Commissioners have lent their support to a grant opportunity designed to address needs in rural communities. Housing has been identified as a top priority in Bourbon County.
On Tuesday, Emily Diebolt, grants manager for Bourbon County Regional Economic Development, Inc., spoke to commissioners about the Rural Champions program recently introduced by the Kansas Department of Commerce. The program was developed by the KDOC’s Office of Rural Prosperity in partnership with the Kansas Sampler Foundation and Patterson Family Foundation.
