Motion to not adopt resolution to exceed revenue neutral rate fails at city; second meeting scheduled
Tuesday, August 23, 2022
After Fort Scott City Commissioners could not agree on whether the city would exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate, or they did, by how much, it was agreed to hold a special meeting to hash things out again at noon Friday.
Tuesday’s special meeting was to hold a public hearing to discuss the RNR. Following the hearing, Commissioner Josh Jones made a motion to not adopt a resolution to exceed the RNR. His motion failed to pass 2-3, with he and Commissioner Matthew Wells voting in favor and Tim Van Hoecke, Shane Walker and Mayor Katie Harrington voting no.
