Fire spreads from shed to house

Fort Scott firefighters on Monday afternoon worked to contain a blaze that destroyed one structure before spreading to a vacant house on the property.

Fort Scott Fire Chief Dave Bruner said the fire department received a call about 1:30 p.m. of a structure fire in the 1200 block of Main Street. A shed behind the house was engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene. The fire quickly spread to the house.
