A fifth-inning boost propelled the Fort Scott Tiger varsity baseball team to a 9-1 victory over the Parsons Vikings in the Tigers’ final home game of the season Wednesday evening at Dave Regan Stadium.

The Tigers saw another solid outing by Fort Scott starting pitcher Sam Deloney, who struck out five batters and allowed six hits and one run in 6 2/3 innings. A Tiger defense that helped Deloney out of jams, and base-running miscues by the Vikings helped lead to the win.
