City moving forward with runway maintenance

During a special meeting held on Tuesday, commissioners voted unanimously to move forward with a grant that would fund improvements at the Fort Scott Municipal Airport.

The city’s share of the $2,280,654 project will be 10 percent, or $266,500. That will pay for a 1-inch leveling and 2-inch asphalt overlay on the existing runway.
