Archaeologists help FSNHS staff get glimpse of the past

A team of experts is taking a look beneath the surface of the grounds at the Fort Scott National Historic Site.
A four-person crew from the Midwest Archaeological Center, an office of the National Park Service in Lincoln, Neb., is conducting a geophysical survey of the site to get a better idea of how the fort looked in the 1840s, when it served as a frontier military garrison.
