Rufus Lee Cobb

Rufus Lee Cobb, born Aug. 1950, died June 2021. He was 70 years old.

He passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

He was a long haul truck driver for 28 years, but is fondly remembered for his love of fishing and hunting.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and enjoyed being the Fort Scott DAV commander for six years. He took great pride in driving the DAV van to Topeka for members’ doctor appointments.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Cobb and Doris Cobb; three sisters, Willie lue Minyard, Leila May Thornton and Carol Hanson.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Cobb, of the home; daughters Brenda Fladie and her wife, Susan Morrison of Stillwater, Okla.; Tammy and Rick of Purcell, Okla; nine grandchildren, Keating Fladie, Joshua Buller, Rikki Buller, Ian Fladie, Kieran Fladie, Zicorrie Davis, Kylee Beasley, Paige Miller and Iasson Fladie.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at a future date and time.
