Debbie Jo (DJ) Jones, age 45, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed from this life to her heavenly home on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. DJ was born in New Port Richey, Fla., on Aug. 15, 1975. She graduated from Williamsfield High School, Williamsfield, Ill., in 1994. She attended Carl Sandburg College and was a hairdresser. She later became a CNA using her gifts and passion for the elderly and disabled. She had worked at Ascension All Saints Hospital, Racine, Wisc.; Emeritus Senior Living, Venice, Fla.; and Vick Street Manor, Port Charlotte, Fla. She had attended The First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda.

DJ is lovingly remembered by her son, Joshua Jones (girlfriend Baelee) of Longmont, Colo.; her mother, Deborah Jones of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Jeff (Karen) Jones of Monmouth, Ill.; sisters, Pam (Brad) Harvey of Olathe, Kan.; Jennifer (Phil) Quick of Fort Scott, Kan.; and Melissa Collins of Fort Scott, Kan.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; best friend, Judy Stokes of Kenosha, Wisc.; and her sweet dog, Paisley. DJ is predeceased by her dad, Allen Jones; her aunt, Linda Raitt; her grandparents, and a great-nephew.

DJ’s faith was in Christ and she loved the Lord with all of her heart. DJ was always helping friends and had a beautiful heart for people. Best friend Judy shared that DJ was a fierce fighter and an undeniable, loyal friend. DJ’s family knew they were prayed for and she constantly said how proud she was of each one. Her sweet, loving heart will truly be missed. In DJ’s last days, she knew she would be reunited with her dad and she was at peace in God’s arms. Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
