Chad “Skwirl” Matthew Elmer

Chad “Skwirl” Matthew Elmer, 48, of Gardner, passed away on Nov. 11, 2020.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1972 to D. David Elmer and Rose Marie (Martens) Schaub in Olathe, Kan.

Chad graduated from Fort Scott High School and was self-employed as a carpenter for Martens Family Enterprises.

On July 20, 2019, he married Cynthia D. (Dunbar), and they made their home in Gardner, Kan.

He was a member of B.A.C.A., and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything to do with motorcycles.

Chad is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia, his sons Austin, Logan and Dylan, his mother Sis and Larry Schaub, father David and Stephanie Elmer, brothers Brandon, Brody, Jordan, and Troy and sisters Sydney, Sophia, and Mikki. He is also survived by three grandchildren Bryson, Carson, and Grayson.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, two uncles, and numerous other loved ones.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, 9 to 11 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Entombment, Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Private graveside services.
