USD 234 Superintendent Ted Hessong, left, is recognized during Monday’s meeting of the USD 234 Board of Education as board member Gary Billionis looks on. Hessong visited the Fort Scott Preschool Center Monday morning to read a Dr. Seuss story to students. On Monday, staff and students at the preschool kicked off Read Across America week and a celebration of Seuss’ birthday, which is March 2. Students and staff planned to participate in activities and dress-up days throughout the week to promote literacy. The week of activities is a collaborative effort with the Head Start program and New Generation Preschool.
