Tigers, Lady Tigers claw back, cannot hold on in Pittsburg
Despite mounting comebacks, the Fort Scott Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball teams could not overcome the Pittsburg Purple Dragons Tuesday night in Pittsburg.
Down by 10 points late in the game, the Tiger boys (1-4 overall, 1-1 in the SEK) applied the press and climbed to within two points, closing the gap in a 30-second time period. The Tigers ultimately fell 66-57.
Sophomore Harmony Shaw had a breakout game for the Lady Tigers (0-5, 0-2) in the team’s 48-30 loss. In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers went on a run behind Shaw’s eight points and a solid defense that gave up only one bucket from the floor. Offensively, the Tigers played their best game of the season thus far.
