Drug cases continued
A judge granted continuances for co-defendants in a Bourbon County drug case Friday morning in Bourbon County District Court.
Sixth Judicial District Judge Richard Smith presided over separate hearings for Cassi Melinda Farmer, 39, and Jerry Michael Wright, 30, who were present with their attorneys. Wright’s case, which was set Friday for a pretrial conference, was set for a hearing on motions and pretrial conference to begin at 9 a.m. Friday, March 20, and a jury trial for Wright initially scheduled to begin Tuesday, Feb. 11, was moved to May 6-8.
Farmer’s case, which was originally set for plea and arraignment Friday, was set for a scheduling conference at 9 a.m. Friday, March 6.
Wright and Farmer are co-defendants facing charges stemming from the same alleged incident, a Jan. 24, 2019 traffic stop and drug arrest made by the Fort Scott Police Department. Farmer is represented by Christopher Meek, a Baxter Springs attorney, and Bob Farmer, a Fort Scott attorney.
