Graham reflects on 2019 season

Friday, November 8, 2019

Bo Graham’s first year at the helm of the Fort Scott High School Tiger football team was one that ended with a 1-8 record for the team, but also one that came with many learning experiences.

The Tigers saw their season come to an end Friday with a 28-7 loss to the Chanute Blue Comets, the SEK champions, in the first round of the Class 4A State Football playoff. Despite the team’s final record, Graham said he is proud of the work ethic displayed by his staff and players throughout the season.

“Being a head coach is a very humbling experience; good but humbling,” he said. “No one ever plans on having a 1-8 season. That being said, I am very proud of my coaching staff and players. We approached every week the same. We worked hard on our game plan and played hard on Friday nights. Success cannot always be measured by wins and losses, especially when you’re dealing with young men who are 14-18 years old.”
