Kansas teams atop NJCAA rankings; FSCC moves to No. 17
Two Kansas community colleges have forced themselves to the front of the pack on the Road to Pittsburg for the NJCAA national championship.
Hutchinson (ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Coaches Poll, 3-0) went into Council Bluffs to knock off Iowa Western (No. 15, 1-2) with a score of 34-27; and, Butler (now No. 2, 3-0) jumped to an early lead and never looked back in their 33-7 win over Highland (1-2.)
It's the first time since Oct. 19, 2010 that two KJCCC teams have had the top two spots. That week, it was No. 1 Butler and No. 2 Hutchinson. Hutchinson earned their first No. 1 ranking in the NJCAA poll for the first time in their program's history just last week. With their win over Iowa Western, that's more history for their program - number one in consecutive weeks.
