Rolling rivers, dangerous driving

Water rises at Pavey’s Crossing Tuesday morning near one of three signs posted to warn drivers not to enter the water-covered road. The county posts signs on rural roads with low water crossings and barricades have been placed on asphalt roads where water has risen.

Portions of nearly every road in Bourbon County were covered Tuesday after 5 inches of rain fell overnight and into the early afternoon, causing rivers to overflow their banks.

Residents and drivers are urged to be cautious, be aware of their surroundings and avoid driving through water covering any roadways.
