FSCC men picked to finish third

Fort Scott Community College’s men were picked to finish third in Kansas Jayhawk Community College-Division II in a pre-season basketball poll released Monday afternoon while the women were voted fifth.

Defending champion Johnson County was picked to win the men’s hoop race followed by Highland, the ’Hounds (20-12 overall, fourth in the division last season), Kansas City, Labette and new member Hesston.

Defending champ Highland is the favorite on the women’s side followed by Johnson, KCK, Labette, Fort Scott (12-16, fifth in the division in 2018) and Hesston.

Fort Scott men open their season Nov. 2 at Coffeyville. The women play North Central Missouri at Overland Park the same evening.
