UNIONTOWN — Uniontown already knew it was going to be on the road for the first round of the Class 1A playoffs next week. Friday night, the Eagles playoff opponent was determined when Olpe (8-0) beat Hillsboro, 28-6, on the road to win the District 2 title.

Meanwhile, here in District 1, undefeated Colgan remained so with a 48-8 win over Uniontown (0-3 district, 1-7 overall).

“We had some bright spots in tonight’s game,” Eagle head coach Jeremy Neville said. “You hope our younger players really take something positive to motivate them going forward. It was also Senior Night and they all played. When you put the time in to work, prepare, and sacrifice in order to be successful, those memories are special.”

Andrew Reed led the defense with 8 tackles and the rushing game with 33 yards on 13 carries. Ty Davidson passed for 46 yards and scored the Eagles’ only touchdown on a run in the fourth quarter.

Colgan (6-2) will be at home against Leon-Bluestem (1-7) next Friday night.
