Olpe rolls by Eagles
UNIONTOWN — Olpe scored 20 points in the first quarter here Friday night and went on to beat Uniontown, 48-6, in non-league play.
“Olpe is one of the best small-school football programs in the state of Kansas,” Eagle head coach Jeremy Neville said. “They were extremely disciplines in their execution and played as a unit.
Ty Davidson passed for 80 yards on 9-of-20 passing for Uniontown (1-4). Andrew Reed gained 91 yards rushing on 13 carries and also made 11 tackles. Chance Fuhrman caught 3 passes for 31 yards.
Next Friday, the Eagles will play at Pleasanton, currently the leader in the Three Rivers League 11-man division. This game will also open Class 1A-District 1 play.
“We need to continue improving and get to Pleasanton,” Neville said. “The start of District play and a league opponent will be exciting for us.”
